KINDNESS
23 September 2011

I grow best on kindness
and I dispense it as well as I can
and even when goodbyes have to be said
I try to the best of my ability
to dispense it
and receive a little in return.
Sometimes I receive a gentleman's reply
but sometimes
I am completely misunderstood.

Kind- of a friendly, generous, or warm-hearted nature.  Showing sympathy or understanding; humane, considerate; forbearing, tolerant; generous, liberal; agreeable, beneficial.

It sounds so easy to be kind – or to simply receive kindness… But it doesn't always happen that way.  That's why I think it inspiring and encouraging every time it does!

I will remember your kindness to me.

Thank you for your kind words, and your wise and honest comments, Aenea. You are extremely easy to be kind to. You are such a breath of fresh air and happiness and goodness. I understand very well that you can't always be happy (e.g. Have Pity on the Bushes - where you combined humour with frustration and your own rights (so important to do) and a serious matter) but your poetry is ALWAYS interesting, honest, lovely and excellent. I read every MorningStar poem I find with great pleasure, though I wish there were more to find. Smiles.

Not everybody may be familiar with loving kindness, dear Owl. There are those who sadly have not experienced it and therefore they are suspicious, their understanding will come slowly.

Let your heart not be saddened ... simply continue to cultivate loving kindness and it will be recognized sooner or later as the precious gift that it is and its seeds will grow even on unfriendly terrain.
