The Rumba

If I could dance
It would be with you.
I'd waltz
around and around
in the street lamps glow.
But alas,
the only steps I know
are those taken to a quiet area,
just out of sight,
where hands hold tight,
clothing rustles, and
whispered words,
barely heard, ask . . .
why dance . . .
    why dance . . .

          Ah, the rumba,
                the rumba,
                     of you,
                        and me.

                  ~~~
Well, waltzing in the glow of streetlamps, is a wonderful ouverture ...
Enjoyed this much.
I have no idea what the rumba dance is, I know the music and like it, but dancing... not so much.  This write?  Excellent my friend.
As always, you make writing thoughts and feelings seem so easy.
Enjoyed.
This is uniquely sad...
One would think the need to dance should never be questioned... by the living anyway.
I feel your need to question it even so.
Nicely done.
