music of the night Tall trees and endless hills brush the traceless clouds that flow forever through the pure blue immensity of this late Summer afternoon, as another day slides toward sunset and down the rolling years of ever-changing seasons. By this stony mountain stream in the deepening forest cool one can taste all the simple joys of wilderness serenity and deep-time passing, until the siren call of twilight beckons a grand full moon to climb the endless dome of tremulous stars with the music of the night of a thousand infinitesimally small and hidden, wondrous things that no man shall ever own. --- b. e. adams (8/21/2011) |

I've been listening to a tape over the course of the last few days, a little at a time, of a man who had riches, prestige, was on top of the world and decided to chuck it all and climb a mountain. The mountain was in Alaska, he chose to begin his trek in late autumn. He made the tape, wrote the book after it was all over. Your poem, and your descriptive passages, made me think of the tape and his trials an tribulation. The name of the book he wrote after it was all over, was "Breakaway. ~ Man who stands on toilet is high on pot. ~ |

I found myself reading your first two lines over and over again. The flow and imagery in those lines especially intrigued me. Nicely done. Miscellanea |
