Of course there is a story behind what happened and of course, it was a story of love Why he had stopped eating for 10 days, a spiritual fast, and the source of his faith He was trying to win back his love that had left him. He wanted to show her the power of faith the power of love the power of forgiveness it had been a few days since their mutual friend's funeral She had told him the wrong date for the funeral She didn't want him there told him she was afraid he'd make a scene The truth was the families involved made the scene it was a travesty, a broken family, and a feud ensued a young woman killed to soon, a woman raised more by her grandmother, than her true parents. It was a death from a drunk driving accident ironically driving home from the wake of another friend. Dead at 21 He had known since he met the friend, that this girl was living on borrowed time. You see, she had nearly been killed before in another car accident she had been in the hospital for 6 months from the previous incident Ironically the first accident was also a drunk driving accident but that wasn't the irony The irony was that the first accident also happened driving home from the wake of another friend's death. He found out the date for the funeral, his mother had seen the obituary in the newspaper the obituary his love had written with the actual date, place and time of the funeral. There was also a truth of jealousy, his love used to argue with his friend that he loved her more. It wasn't true, she was like a little sister to him. He didn't show up at the funeral, he sent his mother instead with flowers. He had had his own funeral for her, at a place that was special to the two of them. Years later he befriended another woman a woman who knew his friend a woman who was also at the funeral She told him what had happened that day because his mother had blocked out the memory. He tried to get his love to come to church but she never came. So, he visited her at her work She was the door girl for a local strip club. He took his new friend with him. He was wearing the wedding band he had bought for himself the ring his love had promised him, but never gave. She had bragged about how much she made in tips, looking pretty, letting men into this club. He saw her, paid the entry fee, took off the ring in front of her and dropped it into her tip jar. She began to cry... He never saw her again she stole his credit card number from the bill charged two hundred dollars in club cash. He made a date with one of the dancers he met that night but the date never happened That night he changed his life He had this new friend, a popular guy, a guy that introduced him to smoking, drinking, and drugs. He had done everything right for the woman had always been loyal, faithful, true kind and generous. He always took care of her, had asked her to move in with him one night after her brother had beat her up at home. She didn't respond well to kindness, to love One night their mutual friend had asked her why she was so mean to him, that he was so sweet and kind to her He never heard her answer. He had lived a Godly life, never done drugs, only been drunk a couple of times he was still a virgin. Soon, that all would change after the night he dropped the ring in her jar. He thought he had done everything perfect everything he had been taught to do how to treat a woman how to love and enduring faith in God. He turned his back on that lifestyle saying it had failed him. He tried to run away from his faith and his gifts But his faith would never let him escape... |

What a story! Temptations fortify when they are resisted. Not always what seems right in our eyes meets the expectations of our interlocutors. The experience is well rendered. M |
