I look into myself and see, Scattered egos fighting for room; There are times I wear a costume, Drink my wine and nibble on brie. I gaze into the darkened sky, Searching for favorite stars, I feel important, like a czar, There’s that ego again says I. ~ I knew drugs weren't the answer. I just had to find out for myself. ~ |

Yea well I guess we are all at odds with our ego at one time or another... it's kind of a love/hate realtionship. Ya think? |

Oh, yes of course it is, Blues, I truly believe our clashing ego can somntines can cause such violence, Ted Bundy comes to mind. Thanks Blues, for rescuing my little poem from obscurity which it shall probably return forthwith. ~ I knew drugs weren't the answer. I just had to find out for myself. ~ |

quote: Gazing at the stars, dear Jerry, is already a way to reach the higher self and what you feel is just right, you know. You ARE important. I love this, well done! It's in your last comment that your ego is at work, by not trusting the interest this poem stirs ... Love, Margherita |

Thank you very much, Margherita, for your detailed comment of my poem. About my last comment, I thought I was "trusting the interest this poem stirs," by pointing out that there are bad egos as well as tame and energetic ones. I guess I didn't quite bring it off as well as I thought. ~ I knew drugs weren't the answer. I just had to find out for myself. ~ |

Jerry, reading between the lines, I see Bundy and Twain. I think Twain would have been the one to appreciate it more. Bravo! |
