. She sings a song With no words So why is it I see the sun Going down slowly Where a Western horizon Meets the sea There seem small fires Burning in the valley Just rising over mountains A silver crescent moon Autumn leaves Night birds calling softly A sense of supper In the breeze And men turn If only momentarily And remember someone They’ve never known . |

This reminds me of a poem by William Stafford. Enjoyable. |

I read this very slowly to imbibe the beauty, peace and ambience of each line and to touch the sounds and the silence. That last stanza is breathless-beautiful! Owl |

John, May I put this in my library? Oh, thank you! I know it wasn't in any way intended for anyone other than you know... But I might wish that someone, someday, would say something so beautiful, upon reflection of all that the sun upon whom this shines, does for us. "The business of the poet...is to show the sorriness underlying the grandest things and the grandeur underlying the sorriest things." Thomas Hardy |
