A large bronze bell tolls far from here. A small group of children huddle in fear. While silently a mother sheds a single tear. A family prays together, hoping the Lord will stay near. They all wait silently for someone, to bring them good cheer. As someone slips through, unbidden, hidden by the night. Even though dressed so strangely, he brings with him the light. This group of warriors brings good cheer and makes the darkness bright. They move on in waves, crushing the fright. This Band will stand strong, together, to make it all right. In honor they serve and protect, with all their might. They will stand, forever vigilant, holing back the darkness of night. For deep within them all, the light burns hot and bright. |

Allan, are you, or do you have someone in the military? If so, thank you. Be well, poet. |
