YOUR EYES ON ME 30 September 2011 I can always feel when your eyes are on me. There is a warmth that envelops me and lifts my feet from the ground and I know when I turn you will be there with your laughing eyes and your head ever so slightly tilted and the sunlight playing on your face and your dreams spilling out in your heartsong. You know my thoughts almost before I do and you read them and listen to them and imbibe them as gently as a dragonfly paints its dreams and you answer them, with fingers soft-tracing a path from my eyes to my mouth as you lift my face to yours, and in winged words that relax my shoulders and melt me into your strong, protective arms and give birth to your favourite of my smiles. I wonder how does a dragonfly paint its dreams? |

Ah, Charly, have you never seen a dragonfly's delicate dance, with the sunlight blessing its wings? It is then that it is painting its dreams. Thank you for wondering. Thank you, Jimmy. Owl [This message has been edited by OwlSA (10-01-2011 07:25 AM).] |

This is enchanting, dear Owl. And yes, I understand how the dragonfly paints its dreams ... they often do it around me when I swim in the lake! Love, Margherita |

Thank you, Margherita. It must be lovely to see the dragonflies while you are so relaxed and swimming in a lake. Owl |

I sometimes shoot in competitions. One afternoon, during a shoot with a dozen or so hard cases on the firing line, hundreds of dragonflys flew between us and the targets. They were consuming the mosquitos that had been swarming and sucking our blood all day. The dragonflys' wings sparkled in the sunlight and the entire firing line (in a timed match) put down their weapons just to watch. When they left, we had to start that leg of the match over. They ate all the mosquitos. |

What an absolutely beautiful story, Charly! I held my breath as I read about and pictured all those sparkling dragonflies, painting their dreams and realising some of the dreams in their feast of the mosquitoes and coming to the rescue of all of you, into the bargain. I am very glad you shared that magical picture with us. Thank you. Owl |

I read your poems and look now, out of knowing it will be there..for the punchline, which in my opinion, the piece rotates around.. "your dreams spilling out in your heartsong." And there it is......smiles |
