                      The Lady

Beyond a resplendent crimson sunset
beneath this deep black-velvet mantle
of tremulous stars and silver moonlight,
she still moves as a spirit in a dream
stirring the shadows with whispers to
   a lonely heart
of inscrutable possibilities … remaining,
like love itself, a most delicious and
   infinite mystery.
