Poems of Her Dimension Black clad dynamite, her hair was of angel gold and her Irish nature sparkled blarney with class She read of many things, but specifically of a Kansas storm, how it made life different from the West Coast and in that, she and I shared a same difference She shed not a word of her age but led us through chronicles of life. If you listened carefully and knew where to stop, you knew she wore her time well. We laughed with her as she spoke our truths and squeezed a tear with harsh reality. In the after words, I wondered how she would write this night sky that measured two days worth of heat, how the cold front kissed the warm front, who then slapped warm silly, and flashed thunderously, whipping into a dance of Tarantella, and if God had humor in the wedding of two opposites, his humor culminated in the throwing of rice which sounded suspiciously like hail. Hail that hailed the poet/author such applause of Kansas storms. ~*~ Tuesday, 16 April, 2002: Attended Arts & Humanities Poetry reading by Patricia Traxler, author of Blood and Forbidden Words "The business of the poet...is to show the sorriness underlying the grandest things and the grandeur underlying the sorriest things." Thomas Hardy |

Simply amazing is this one, Sunshine. A literal goldmine of quotables so I shan't try to pick one out. This read like the song of Tanya Tuckers by the name of "Lizzie and the Rainman." I love this. I'm holding onto it. ~ Employ teenagers while they know everything. ~ |

Yes, as all are saying, Karilea, this is a masterpiece. We all saw her, heard her and understood her through the sensitive power of your words. I feel that I want to thank her, as much or almost, as you, for this gift to us. Owl |

"The business of the poet...is to show the sorriness underlying the grandest things and the grandeur underlying the sorriest things." Thomas Hardy Indeed this poem is a fine example of the worth of that quote. shan·a·chie n. Chiefly Scots A skilled teller of tales or legends, especially Gaelic ones. (ONLine dictionary) |

Yes, Ford, Bridget was at this reading. She believed I had caught the author's essence very well. Thank you.... Jerry, thank you for reading. You've grabbed well. DS...just wait, winter storms are coming... Yes, Margherita, she is a beautiful woman, and told me one thing when I told her I had a novel I wanted to publish: "Tell me about it in 20 words or less!" I panicked...and then her extremely kind eyes and beautiful voice said, "This is what they will ask, so be ready." I cannot tell you how much she helped me! Michael, my "talent" stems from all of the PiPsters I've come to know in the last 12 years at PiP. You are all astounding people, and our "creator" needs to realize what a home he has really developed. Thank him! Ali, thank you, dear girl. If you were to hear an echo, would you hear you? Yes, you, too, are an inspiration. Diana, I hope that one day I will get to pass on to her all of the accolades received here. I see her now and then; I shall have to print this out just to share. Prasad, you are always welcome into my world, just as you have always welcomed me. Thank you. Martie, as you can see Sissie, I will. Spiros, making another feel good is almost always the way I write, thank you for sharing the fact that you felt it. Ida, Bless you, sweetheart. Sometimes the rough just needs to be shared, and I wish a family member of mine could understand that; so your comment brings me great comfort. Sue, thank you for reading my dear. I know I owe you some emails. luminosity, my God, girl, you've come home! I hope you see this message, because you need to contact me! Love, K JL....you pulled out a key component of the night's engagement, and for that, I applaud your insight! Ford...you pretty much nailed my newest signature with the poem as well. We have to experienced, don't we? I love you All! And if you think that I'm simplistic in my hugs, think again - and ask Martie! I mean it! K |
