i am a woman of words and though you can not hear me speak them you can listen to my writer's voice and know that this is me speaking that my words spring from my heart i am a woman who thinks much and cares deeply for all mankind one who fights for justice and peace who places a high value on life itself some have mistaken my meekness for weakness for they lack an understanding of the components of true strength i have been wounded and yet i have survived and overcome many obstacles i have through God's grace come a long way from where i've been There must be a poem in here somewhere. |

A lovely poem, Faith. You are right. You are all that and more. Ah, “mistaking meekness for weakness”, a mistake many make. There is a saying in Zulu, here in South Africa: “Wathintha umfazi, wathintha umbokodo (pronounced more or less like “wateenta oomfaazi, wateenta oomborgordo)” which means “if you touch a woman, you touch a rock.” It became popularised as a result of our yearly woman’s month for action against abuse of women and children. I have come to understand your "voice" in the wilderness and the poetry you write stands above the fray. You have a peaceful soul. ~ Why Do Gorillas Have Big Nostrils? / Because They Have Big Fingers. ~ |

I am really enjoying your offerings, Faith. Poets often find an inner strength, along with a solace others cannot provide, in our own words. Well done! |
