momma, don't be angry is it something that we did momma, don't ignore us as we climb on top your bed momma, we are hungry it is past time we were fed momma, you can't feed us if you don't get out of bed we're just little children and we do not understand why you lie there staring at our tiny outstretched hands momma, please forgive us you're so far away it seems we're young and we don't know just what nervous breakdown means There must be a poem in here somewhere. |

I could feel the pain in this piece. It may be a nervous breakdown or a chemical imbalance of the brain. Went through something like this with my mom back in 1989. I truly enjoyed the read!!! When the family is together, the soul is at peace - Russian Proverb |

I wrote this poem based on my mother's account of a real life experience during which time she spoke of us as having pulled her out of her sad state by begging her for peanut butter sandwiches. I am sorry to hear you experienced something similar with your mother. I was much too young to remember what happened with my mom. I do recall her repeating the story to me several times while I was growing up. There must be a poem in here somewhere. |

Yeah my mom tries to forget about it. She ended up in a state mental hospital for awhile. I was 10 so I could not go in and visit like my Dad, brother and sister could. It is a sad memory. When the family is together, the soul is at peace - Russian Proverb |

The human condition, i.e., the brain, is such a complex organism it is a wonder it doesn't self-destruct more often than not. The Arizona shooter comes to mind. ~ Why Do Gorillas Have Big Nostrils? / Because They Have Big Fingers. ~ |

This really hits home. Complex is right Jerry. Been there. The guilt you feel is an ongoing battle..even though at the time you were doing the best you could...its hard. Lori |

Faith, you have a really wonderful mom. Like your mother through the spoken word, you through the written word, captured a seemingly insignificant moment and preserved it foreverm as well you may have done, for it was a most significant one. Owl |

Wow, this is just too sad but very well expressed here in your words Faith. Eric Love does not look after it's own interests. |
