These are but slivers of me-- I take the razor to my selves; once I tried to bring you there but now I think I'll keep my Hell private as the shadow-wings of a big bird's random flight pattern songs of voice that brings more bad omen to us all. oh-listen-to-my-silence-sing a private dirge... (game?) castling. Curlicues of withering, aged wood of whittlings; rising rivers come each spring and these are glances from myself. Don't take this with you-- go. Be well. |

sounds like something was spoken of, perhaps a confession? Perhaps the secret was devulged, and became public information that you thought would remain private? Trust was broken, now trust does not exist. Perhaps I am wrong.. But I love to try to see into core of subliminal poetry... Enjoyed doing that here. |

Hmmm. Thank you both, so very much. I always consider the replies, and my thinking always seems to be with an editor's eye-- I repeated "private"<--hate when I do that--> and I was wondering, that, if "private dirge..." could become "a nun's song sung" (I actually prefer that line because it has percussive tendencies and delicious undercurrent) but thank you, both, for kind replies. *hearthugs* |

"a private dirge" It stays. Just because you prefer it. *smile* Thanks, Mo. I think I'll put some coffee on... |

Your writing is surrealism at it's absolute best. This dialogue to whomever carries a message of "I may speak to you, but you will never get a chance to speak back." The door is closed. If the last three lines don't scream that, the rest of the poem doesn't. Well thank you Jerry. The dialogue was written for "whomever", but I was aiming for the p.o.v. as the river Lethe as the speaker... I appreciate your commments and I thank you all for taking the time. |

Yeah, all I had to do was look and understand the title. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother commenting. ~ I went to a restaurant that serves "breakfast at any time" / I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance ~ |

I was once fond of razors myself but then too many people come around when you screw up and hit a main vein. Such is life and the art of moving on I guess. |

Oh Jer...I'm glad you do bother. the Argosy mag was, well it was such a weird thing for a little kid to read, and I was such a weirdo even then anyhow. Please have a hug, and just know I cycle through being a reader and commenter type and other times, I just feel quiet. You are a dear for being so patient with me, I thank you. grin...Argosy magazine. Methinks my parents over-indulged us kids in the reading material. But really, that's the only reason I knew what the word meant. As for Lethe, ohhhh, would that we could pick and choose what we forget. But the rain is really nice tonight, isn't it? Love ya hon. And oh my Dixie-dear. *wide smiles* Praying all is well with you, and I'm just really happy you showed up here. And I should start writing e mails again, but it's so much more fun to just slam it on the board. (For those of you who aren't finding this fun, I ask, why are you still reading this?) *winks and supergrins* And Ida, I'm never quite on the ball when it comes to thanking you either. So I thank you now. Ciao good poets. *smooches* |
