Summer’s Here

Ninety Eight, Ninety Nine, One Hundred degrees,
How high will the temperature get?
The heat waves shimmer from the hot black top,
You can fry an egg on it,

Yet the summer is what we wait for,
To get out and enjoy the sun,
Time to go camping, fishing or boating,
Show off that tan, and have some fun,

Stoke up the outdoor grill,
Throw on some burgers & corn on the cob,
Take time to go on vacation,
And escape from the grind of your job,

But it’s only here for a while,
Don’t let it pass you bye,
Go soak up the rays while you can,
It will be gone in the blink of an eye.

The answer is always NO, Until the question is asked.

Yo Tracy,

I bet that's the way it is in Utah.  Here the summer lasts longer, but it doesn't get all that hot.  We're luck here.

Hi Tracey!

This is actually one of the coolest summers we have had in a while. Each summer passes by faster than the year before...

Got some corn for that grill...I've been in the garden having a fine corn shucking frolic lol don't say that ten times fast..

Nice summer treat.

Ah, yes. The lazy, hazy days of summer.
I just shucked some corn ~ but alas, we're out of propane so it is going in a big pot of boiling water!

Enjoy some fun in the summer sun!

Hi!  Kid,  This is your Mom,  What a cute poem, It says it all.  It has been hot here in Idaho, breaking a record.  But we here in the west are lucky, we have dry heat so the nights are cool, good for sleeping or camping.

Have a good one.

Love ya,  Mom

Such a lovely reminder to enjoy summer's gifts.

I sat in the sun and it felt good ... for a while. Then I invoked a breeze ...

Love,

Oh yes I agree, we must enjoy while we can, summer passes so quickly.  Just what I needed to read today, thanks for sharing dear poet. And reminding us that autumn is just round the corner, at least in places where I frequent.  Great write, enjoyed very much.

Yes summer does seem to go far to quickly
Tracey so you just have to make the most of

it while it is here. Personally I much prefer Autumn. Nice write my friend.

Well, it got up to 106 here for a few days. Even at that, my work keeps me too tired to do anything. LOL! I need a very long vacation. If only I could afford it, I would take off in a flash.

Summer was almost gone before I read this wonderful ode to its arrival. *S* I like this very much... but I'm welcoming every breath of cooler air. *S*
