Yes, I'll play with love like it was my own blood. While affection cuts and rips it's crimson crying over me. As much as I can bleed On you I will coldly feed Like the candlelight the night lies with. Just forget I wrote this and only for your bliss. I will tell you this: I'm just a shadow Of what I used to be A failing lonely reliquary Of all I wanted to be. And everything you are makes me weep and die inside The miles are too far and my heart is known to lie. I'm not enough and I never will be But thats just tough Since you refuse to leave me Yes, I'll play with love like it was my life blood Until I'm used up and dired up and my wounds bleed like mud Because you are enough. Hangovers are nature's way of preparing us for liver failure. |

my favorite part: "I'm just a shadow Of what I used to be A failing lonely reliquary Of all I wanted to be." ...descriptive, distinct, and direct |

Wow! This is strong and really carries a punch in its power. Rejection sucks and you say it so much better than I just did. It hurts and your poem hurt to read. Alison |

Finally, my hope & optimism have been awarded! I checked Passions in Poetry just to see if you came back sharing your acutely amazing poems with those who have love & passion for poetry. And to my sheer pleasure, you DID having posted two poems which titles’ ends are 3 dots…3 dots always remind me of rainy drops – dot. dot. dot. And my favourite part is “And everything you are makes me weep and die inside The miles are too far and my heart is known to lie. I'm not enough and I never will be But thats just tough Since you refuse to leave me” ![]() |
