hiding inside the seams

I push the frayed edges of life’s fabric

but can’t seem to break through

some days

Monotony

is my middle name         yet I dream

of sewing myself up          to be a pillow for your head

is what I’d like

          for you to read me

your private poetry

         seamlessly mending

                                             torn pieces of me

*** From a 2004 poet Wranx challenge
to blend two Pips artists styles
and create a 'masquerade' write.
Sneaky me, I did blend three.
Who can they be?
(hint nly one still posts here regularly)
This is still one of my favorite challenge writes!

Exquisite poem - monotony and you just don't seem to go together, though!

Is Greeneyes one of them?

I'll give it a guess.

Um, I'm guessing Bri, Cpat, and Wranx himself?

That was a fun and tricky challenge, and it produced some great poems, *ahem*, like this one!

LOL, you know the threesome.

That challenge was the most fun and the most challenging!

for me, the beginning and end of this 'write' are most especially fine:

"hiding inside the seams

I push the frayed edges of life’s fabric

but can’t seem to break through...

                ... read me

your private poetry

         seamlessly mending

                                             torn pieces of me"

serious applause for this 'penning' !

That sounds like such a fun challenge and I agree with Serenity when she says that it produced god poems, because heck, I would think so, Heh, loved this.

My guess is that Serenity Blaze or secondhandpoet or Icebox is the one who still posts here.  Love the poem, but I was knocked sideways at "monotony is my middle name" - just didn't sound like you at all - but the masquerade explains that!

It was none other than our Serenity.
The other two were Brian and Cpathair.

You've captured the combination beautifully Midnitesun. This masquerade gave just a glimpse of each, and perfectly so. Nicely done!

Best wishes,
/Kit

(smiles) Oh my gosh, this DOES sound so much like our dearest blaze of serenity, Cpat and Brian! (mouth agape in astonishment)

You truly did their unique writing styles justice, and gracefully at that! (huggies) I for one think it's fun to regularly vacillate between styles like an ethereal chameleon of sorts, as I think many like you who have followed me these last nine years here have seen many evolutions I've undergone, LOL, and you are most adept at that as well! Bless you, my friend, you are a walking Mardi Gras costume ball, LOL, thanks for masquerading!

Interesting ... Serenity's name was the first and only to pop into my mind...it all sounded like her...'stuff'........

Still thing she's a pretty damn cool lady too...
