Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

when i am over you
i will no longer feel

the scrapes of your words
on the pages on which i write
echoes of your taunts
will blow over me, beyond
this place of pain
sliced by you

when i am over you
your opinion won’t have power

the love shared from sisterhood
will be a mere scrap book memory
crinkled like sepia photographs
warped by time
scarred by accusation
and gone

when i am over you
i will still remember

a time of laughter and trust
as we embraced our differences
proud to be friends
basking as survivors
not knowing then, unaware
we had not survived

when i am over you
i’ll remember with a new freedom

and never look back

sisters...
they are with us before our children and all things being equal
they are with us after our parents
they hold the memories of our childhood
and share things no one else will ever understand.
I can feel the pain here Alison
it suffocates
you will never be over your sister

I hope the pain wanes...

Teary eyes, as Your poems rings loud to me
but sisterhood, something you will never could come over it, I'm afraid.
Thank you for sharing your words from the heart.

This is very sad, and also very touching. Your ability to differentiate between what used to be, what of that was real, and to be able to take the positive and move on shows a great maturity, from which you will most benefit.

I wanna give you a big, warm hug. Will you be my adopted sister?
You certainly have the ability to convey your feelings to your readers ~ and fans! (Of which I am one! )

"when i am over you
your opinion won’t have power"

Sweetheart, I hope you don't have to wait until you are over her for her words to no longer have power over you.

I feel a tremendous amount of compassion for you to be experiencing these hurt feelings ~ especially at this family time of year.

Like I asked before, will you be my adopted 'baby' sister?

Love you, Lasky Girl!

That is a sad poignant poem dear Alison but hopefully in time, you can be friends again.
We all feel for you my dear. Love and a big hug.

Hi Kate,

Sisters are forever - and I know no other relationship like the ones that sisters have.  It's unique, wonderful and often painful.  As strong as the bond is - it's like any other relationship when trust is broken.  I am at a point of silence before the rebuild.  It's painful and there is mourning for a friendship that will never be the same.  Perhaps it will be stronger in the future - and in its way better.  But, neither of us are ready to consider moving forward right now.

Thank you for you sharing your thoughts.  As you can tell, it's taken me some time to come back and respond.

I am so happy that you are back at PiP.

NDNC -- not so lost poet,

Thank you.

Charisma,

I agree - we never get over it.  If we are lucky, we move on and grow stronger.

Happy New Year - and thank you for reading and responding to my poem.

therightside,

I truly thank you.

Linder Lou,

I felt a bond with you very quickly after coming to PiP.  In many ways, you remind me of my dear friend, Shelly, who brought me here.  You both are intelligent, beautiful and among my all-time favorite poets.  I am honored to be considered your sister - thank you.  I love you and am very, very proud of you.

Love,
Alison

-

Lindsay,

Thank you for understanding and for the big down-under hug.  We will be someday.  It just takes time.

Love,
Alison
