Confusion

Forsaking the hard road of greatness for the patterns of ambiguity
And thus gladly encompassed by the sleeve of accepted discontent.
We live our lives dedicated to the perseverance of our fledgling mediocrity

What an evil thing is acceptance of slings and arrows.
When even the smallest victory of consequential insignificance towers
in our minds as though it were a colossus of universal appointment.

How often are our attempts at the accoutrement of complacency met with success.
This arrogance then, remains unabridged by any semblance of regulated introspection
And so,
The collective greatness of humanity withers in the shadows of our petty appetites
And our creative angels are easily slain and laid open upon the altar of menial ambition.

I so agree!  However mediocrity is not allowed in our family.   Enjoyed this.
