For A Quarter I wrote you a love song A very special kind I used only love words AII of them I could find. I said how I miss you How lonely I have been How I hope that one day I’ll have your love again. When I had you with me I said, “I didn’t care.” I just didn’t know how sad I’d be without you there. I’m sorry that I waited Until it was too late Now, I must take the blame Can’t say that it was fate. It has been a long time That we have been apart But my love keeps living And growing in my heart. I know you think my words Don’t have too much meaning But my life and my soul Are all in this song I sing. So, when you want to hear, “I love you.” Find a nickelodeon And drop a quarter in the slot Then, I will tell you once again.
