~*~ Dawn rose on tip toe peaking over the meadow gathering the powder blue dusting of snow gift wrapping the winter in white. Like sugar coats our sweetest memories stirring the child in all of us warm fires rise to the occasion set on the sky where angels fly. Silverette sequins shown in the morning sun filtering the light in shadows and streams and prayers are heard shedding a tear from another season. Whistling winds drift and carry bending bare branches where red robins wonder in awe of their existence while church bells toll faraway in the distance. And I am grateful for the joy and silent nights that have come to pass in the stillness and for the warm rays of sun slanting my way. ~*~ |

Blues Serenade, This poem is so warm and cozy. "Wrapping" sent me back a few years in late November or early December. We were having the house sided and the workers were putting a siler toned paper on first. My little one was asked by a neighbor what we were doing to the house and he said belivingly "they are wrapping it for Christmas". another unforget moment for me. latearrival |

snow is where it happens to be at. I love my dog, and my truck. It's that simple, really. |

How beautifully you capture the extraordinary imagery of snow in sunshine, spangles and quiet, and bird warbling clear as bells. I'm thinking how long it has been since I saw this sort of pristine vision in winter. (I actually saw pink snow once when I was a child, but white is the miracle!) I can still hear the crunch underfoot that protested my intrusion. Snow is sparse where I live, but the wind howls around the eves like a prankster full of devious intent, and the rains accompany with wild percussion. Umbrellas do not work well. The wind simply turns them inside out! ~Karen |

It's wonderful to see the images that delight your eye here today, Bluesy girl. Your heart will no doubt keep you warm when it is snow-cold outside. |

Bluesy, What a nice trip this is! I picture the glistening water and the sun so brilliant on the snowy day that you almost have to squint. Very warming. Especially love the last verse and this one: "Like sugar coats our sweetest memories stirring the child in all of us warm fires rise to the occasion set on the sky where angels fly." It just trips off the ole tongue! Great to read your poetry again! ~miscellanea |
