               The Hearing Aid

Two old ladies had been close friends for ten years
And now both their memories were starting to wane,
They both loved a drink and often had a few beers,
They reckoned it stopped them from going insane.

This day as they sat down in the lounge for a drink,
Ethel noticed something funny with Mabel’s left ear,
“Why that looks unusual,” said Ethel, “by golly I think
That you’ve put a suppository in your ear my dear.”

A suppository you say, she pulled it out & then stared,
“Why Ethel, there are many times when I’m all in a tiz,
I thank you sincerely for embarrassment spared,
For now I know where my hearing aid is.”

Hello Lindsay, this is fun, getting old is not easy and I think we hear a lot of things we shouldn't this way...Enjoyed your poem.

Thanks Bill, I hope you never become deaf and need a hearing aid, but at least she found it.

Thanks Late for popping in and I'm glad you had a laugh, a laugh is good for the soul.

Thanks Yann, you always come up with a great comment, and they are always appreciated.

Have a great day folks and take care.

Lindsay

I'm sorry folks but I have put this on
one of late's poems by mistake
