Cherubic faces, flowers and butterflies, tiny bluebirds and ribbons surrounded by lace. It was so beautiful in my eyes. A turn of the century valentine, Someone's treasure, saved for a time, and then left behind. I had never seen anything like it before. Sitting on the rough, wooden floor in the attic of the old Hardwick house, I held it in my hand and in my child's heart, taking in the beauty of such a wonderous work of art and to this day, I ponder still, the fate of those long ago lovers. Dear Ida, I love this. You have a special way of evoking atmospheres of other times. I was right there sitting with you, could almost smell the dust of the attic. And I wondered along with you ... for sure those cards were cherished for a lifetime! Wonderful! Love, Margherita |

I love your child heart. I love how you see things like old, beautiful valentines. I love how you think of those who cherished it. I love how you express these thoughts in poetry. Yep, I do. Alison |

Dear Ida that is a real delight to read. You must have some wonderful memories tucked away in your memory bank and a great way of putting those memories in print. Love and a big hug. Lindsay |
