tonight I got drunk and played a board game and you were the funny one instead of me, for a change I watched you weave blankets and hats to keep me warm out of simple laughter and three dollar red wine. I grimaced at your glass What you don't like cheap wine you asked me I winked and drank your entire glass I owed you a piggyback ride you said with a childish frown and a sad teenage voice I complied, but only on one condition that you drink my entire glass as well ____________________________________ Bad Habits. I'm still drunk. On that note, I'd like to thank everyone that reads the horse*crap* that I post here on pip. You've all supported me greatly, and that is what sometimes keeps me writing. It's certainly made me progress. I realize this is not my best work, but I forgive myself because I'm still drunk. I don't know if moderators edit out drunk poetry or drunk monologues. Either way, thank you pip community. I appreciate every reply with all my heart. Maybe someday I'll have a book of corny young love self centered and self focudsed poems, and I'll give them to people from pip for free. Love is the binding ingredient in peanut butter. Paul I love my dog, and my truck. It's that simple, really. |

I hope that you had a good strong coffee meanwhile and feel well again, dear Paul. How nice to express your gratitude to the Pipsters on Thanksgiving day. Sometimes a drop of wine has merits not only mischief. Loved the idea of her being funny ... And your poetry is good, even though you have some "bad habits" Love, Margherita |

Well Paulus, if I rock then you roll! This is great - and very familiar... Drunken board games could be Thanksgiving with my brother. Aenea If I don't say it...who will? |

Susan... Thanks. Thanks lots. Margo... No coffee until I got to the duck blind this morning, it felt good, and I feel good now after a nap and some time on the couch. Thanks so much Margopargo. Aenea, we rock and roll together apparently. It's a good way to sleep off the turkey. I love my dog, and my truck. It's that simple, really. |

I don't think your poetry is horse*crap* at all. I think you are growing in your writing and I think that what you write appeals to me because it is real. This poem reminds me of a very fun time I had drinking and learning how to play backgammon with ... well, with someone who will always be special to me. I like your poetry. It is part of you and we are luckey that you show so much of yourself. Thank you. Alison |

Your poetry is entertaining, however drunk you are. And perhaps this isn't your strongest one, who cares. It made me laugh and made me wanna work on having fun nights like these. Here's to you. Cheers C. |
