Broken

there are
no angry words in suffering
my heart breaks
as I die by degree
there is nothing to touch
with nothing in reach
sleep brings tearless silence
as dreams slip awake gone
why did my heart
turn and betray me
in a now lonely bed
with the distance of incomplete
how do I breathe
when my lungs won’t fill
and there is no soothing in
a world outside that has survived
and here inside my knees
are buckled and bent in crawl
my skin is much too sensitive
I don’t understand it either
and wish it would change
so I call on an angel
but I hear…
they fall broken too

"I'm so hard to handle
I'm selfish and I'm sad."
— Joni Mitchell

If angels do "fall broken" then they always get up repaired and made whole.  Maybe that's the purpose of a fall.  This is a sad write but I've a feeling that you will "get up" again.

If I had your talent with words, I could have written these words as year ago. Just remember, my friend... time is a wonderful glue and mosaics are beautiful.

Poignant, that's the word. Strips the skin off already. raw nerves. So. I'll tell you what I said to the mirror: 'Stand up, man, and be counted. You're not above not being loved, live with it.' x
If it's bereavement, I have no answer, just a, xx.
