Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

Sing out of tune while fingers strum
on silky skin that softly hums.
Crescendos offer us the key
to open doors and set love free.
Nocturnal curtains drop on cricket bands in June;
while under velvet darkness we sing out of tune.

The candle drips wax down the stick
and music sparks once hidden tricks.
Light flickers marks on silent walls
as graceful shadows rise and fall.
A glorious sunrise brushes warmth on bared hips,
then follows trails created by the candle drips.

Alison,  is this something being worked in
the workshop?  I like the content and the
8 count lines... I'll snoop around and more
of an idea of what is going on.......

by the way....HI

Hi Magnus,

Funny you should ask as I was just wandering through the lessons to see when I started working with Balladeer in there. I was shocked to realize he has been teaching and spending huge blocks of time with those of us participating for almost a year and a half.

This was the last assignment, titled "Wrap it Up", I believe.

Thank you for reading.

Alison

Thank you, dear Bruce.  It's not my favorite style of poetry, but it is interesting to write.

Such lovely intimacy you unravel here, dear Alison.

Most beautifully "wrapped up"!

Thank you, Margherita.  I got a note from a sister who told me my poetry is "doggerel".  Needless to say, I am feeling a bit quiet lately - with support like that who needs a critic right?

Thank you again.

Alison - Yes, certainly well done and most enjoyable.  All credit to the "student".

Doggerel, huh? Get her to join and let us see some of her work...my knife and fork is ready!

Hey, Mrs. critic, get up on this stage.
You be the songbird and I'll shake the cage.

Don't ever let criticism get you down. Those who  criticize are fueled by jealousy, more times than not. Those qualified to criticize another's work, never do - unless invited. Just revel in the hundreds of positive responses you have gotten here from other poets and disregard the negativity. You have become an excellent writer and I'll will put your work alongside the best.

Tell your sister my karma just ran over her doggerel!

Bal has more poetic creds than I could ever hope to have... but I enjoy your work immensely and have watched you grow... and you're one of the poets I look for whenever I come to read. I'm so proud of you and the poems you write. So please give your sister a long and enthusiastic raspberry and tell her it's from me!!

Sing out of tune while fingers gently strum
Upon that silk-skinned, softened, sensual hum
Crescendos offer us the music key
To open darkened doors and set love free

As evening shadows snuff a cricket June
We'll sing a twilight darkness out of tune
When candle wax drips slowly down the stick
Sparkling music, will play her hidden trick

Light flickers marks upon the silent wall
As gracefully the shadows rise and fall
The glory of warm sun, strokes naked hips
And follows fragrant trails of candle drips

not trying to be a smartass, just joining in the workshop x
