there's god paint all over you.

your dress sparkled slightly
as if God had taken a single, dim star
and ground it into paint, dark blue
poured it all over you
leaving me to stare at your feminine neck tendons
exposed
and allowed me the opportunity
the coincidence of falling
all over you

your teeth were sunlight white
which made me self conscious
but you made me smile anyhow
so I made you laugh
and we laughed at that
and we fell hard like a disaster
all over me
all over you
