We are a society of fools that have lost our dignity in the face of religious zealots gone awry together. For freedoms contain the the absolution of sanity, to fight for those that cannot fight for themselves. We have failed as a people once again while we call our purpose grand, we look into the mirror and see not. We have given rise to weakness rise to fear, to worthless feelings we cannot imagine but embrace as our own. We must stand as ONE, hold firm our convictions, hold firm our rights and release our bigotry. Where is it written that the only ones to fight the battle, are those within a group or culture? Those outside of them give them more power with the firm belief that we are all united. |

Excellent and profound response to the result of Maine's disappointing vote. A retrogressive step on the road to inclusiveness and freedom. Very well written. Peace Jim "We are stardust: we are golden: and we've got to get ourselves back to the garden." --Joni Mitchell "Woodstock" |

I really can't let this fine poem go off the page with just one comment. Progress is often two steps forward one step back. Do not lose heart. |

I agree with the one step, two step theory except I see it ATT as ... all steps going the wrong way.... |
