Demon Seed
by Linda L. Dowd

Black pepper always makes me sneeze.
It makes me cough and makes me wheeze.
Although it is a tasty spice
~ Ground pepper is not very nice!

I salt my food with total ease.
~ Black pepper always makes me sneeze.
If I inhale it up my nose,
please spray me down with water hose!

My eyes will water ~ then turn red.
I’ll head for safety of my bed.
Black pepper always makes me sneeze
~ Sets throat on fire like stings from bees!

A peppercorn’s a demon seed.
It burns my nose and makes it bleed.
~ So do not pass the shaker, please!
Black pepper always makes me sneeze!

Cute poem Linda. I think you would be in big trouble down here where we eat very hot and spicy Mexican food everyday.

My girlfriend would tend to agree with that sentiment as she has acid reflux and can't eat pepper at all unless she wants to feel like her entire chest and throat are on fire.

Goddess grant me the serenity to accept the things that I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

I just noticed the other day in the pharmacy a spray with peperoncino to keep off the aggressors. In their case I love the idea of sneezing and tearing to stop them from doing evil, but in yours I am sorry.

But this piece of peppery content really brought smiles and a good mood, dearest Linda Angelo Terrestre. And thank you for making me remember my mother's sneezes in that same situation. She loved pepper, but it always caused her a nose tempest!

So cute and lovely, eeeetcheeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!
I have done that the whole week without any pepper around

Love and hugs, Angel of love.

Marchmadness ~

Indeed, I would be in trouble, my dear Ida Belle! I like a little kick to my food, but not the kind you're talking about!

Thanks for dropping by! Now go eat some jalopenos and some hotter that hades cherry poppers for a snack! I need a glass of milk and a bowl of yoghurt just thinking about it! lol

Love and a big hug,

Linda

Rachael ~

Fortunately, I do not have the reflux problem that your girlfriend experiences. Pepper really does make me sneeze if I get a good whiff of it. I love pepper on my food (in small amoundts) and hold my breath as I grind up those delicious little demon seeds.

My dear Dolphina ~

Margherita, Pepper Spray ("peperoncino") would definitely keep me on the straight and narrow! If a can of that was near by, I'd be on my 'bestest' behaviour!!!

Your Mom and I would have gotten along fabulously ~ if yours and my relationship is any indication!

I hope your atchoos are settling down now, girlfriend! I've been concerned.

I'm pleased that this bit of levity has lightened your mood!

ROFL... the image of a sneezing angel is one that makes me smile... even as I offer sympathy! *S*

I don't use much black pepper... but do cook spicy. *G* So your sinuses would be cleared whether you sneezed or not! LOL

Enjoyed this very much, angelic one!!

You crack me up.  Hold the pepper or you'll sneeze the poems of these pages.

Love you, girly.

Suthern One ~

If you cook half as well as you bake, then count me in! I'll just bring along some Peptomismol and perhaps some Alka-Seltzer! The fire in me throat 'n belly will be worth digging into some of your home-cooking!

Yann the Mann ~

Greetings from the Great White North! I'm tickled pink that you got such a kick out of my "kids" poem! I love writing for children. Actually, I'm just a big kid myself!
