You're a sick little girl
oh, yes you are
you've sold your own soul
shattered your own heart
all to be cold
hard as a rock
feeling is too painful
so, emotions you block
you destroy anything beautiful
that crosses your path
you search for their weakness
and use it for laughs
you refuse to break down
you keep it all inside
so no one will ever know
its your heart that you hide
see, it's been broken already
won't take much more
no one can ever touch it
no, you've sealed that door
so, you hide behind your rage
in your broken paradise
you'd rather be alone that hurt
you've chosen your own demise
I'm sorry I can't help you
and I hope you come to see
that the sick little girl
just happens to be
Me.

I have read this type of sadness before, and this won't be the last time either.  It is just so sad that women in this position don't take their power back and not be victim but instead victorious! If you dare to dream they come true.  Nicely done.

A very sad read, s1nfully.  The style is perfectly suited for this emotionally charged work:  terse, accusatory, resigned. We are forced to conclude that habit will triumph over commonsense, which is not the way it should be, but then it would not be a tragic work, but one of joy and triumph.
Go well, girl.
Peace
Jim

This reminds me of what my mother always says to me: Diamonds are shining and beautiful but no one wants one where their heart should be...

Grace and peace to you.

I think many of us can identify with these feelings... it's hard to risk hurt again... but so satisfying when we start making peekholes in those walls. *S* Well written!!

I think we all find ourselves being that "sick little girl" or boy as the case may be, at some point in our lives. After all, one can only take so much.

Goddess grant me the serenity to accept the things that I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.
