Sitting at the bar, just one more for fun
Done with the cards, poker playing was done

She sat there alone, just wondering what to do
after her cards were dealt, and her play through too

my intentions are never possible to roam
for sweet soul recognition always comes home

She sat as a vision
before alphas made division
I'm no man on a mission
for this heart's learned its lesson

just conversation
I was just being nice
curiosity for conversation
my only device

so in stepped my "friends"
with testosterone projecting
not paying her no mind
till I struck conversation

her father sat down
and boys played for a while
their gaze turned to me
father cramping their style

I finished my drink
merrily making no stink
and walked out the door
with no intentions for winks

and into the car
and straight from the bar
driving not far
my voice called my star

a heart stood transfixed
on a girl's bubbly smile mix
for this soul always ticks
for a sweet heart does stick

Uncle Cracker and Colbie
we sing like a bird
my mother always told me
lyrics don't miss a word

just driving home, thunder lightening did clash
still buzzing like a bee, singing with the flash

just reaching home, heart cosy and warm
just as I started, for this dear heart performs

for only one can it sing
only one kind fills the void
of my bird nesting ring
that is filled with your joy

very good martiniat, the atmosphere and all, the romance at play like cards and the solitude of the work, you tell so much things in your beautiful poem, i enjoyed very much.
