Never was told the words of wisdom only parents could share
Found out the hard way that love hurts
That when your in your first fight and you hit the dirt, stand back up and take off your shirt
Never was told that now isn't forever
And forever isn't told in the books
Never knew life wasn't a fairytale
Never understood death wasn't reasonable
And who would have ever thought
I was never told
Don't buy a gift for a girl who doesn't know your name cause thats just too bold
Who was to tell me, do your best in school

Never was told the words of wisdom only parents could share
How is it I know them without being told
Lived a thousand years behind the eyes of eighteen
So shut the door and turn on the light
I got some work to do
And...
Well...
It won't be easy.

Lost:  I like this straightforward, just-get-on-with-it treatment that you've used.  The no-nonsense voice you use in this work does not permit us to pity the writer, but makes us believe that, despite all adversity, you are going to win.  Nicely done.

Sutra 6: If your Path seems to be sprinkled with shards of glass, you should examine each shard to ensure it is not a diamond.
