Life, I can no more honor thee
Than by living you to fullest extent
Wasting not an hour, a minute, a second
Of time ever wished was never spent

When I see all the new things you bring,
Coming with the wind as you breathe
Granting me a respite from myself,
A promise of stillness in its shameful serenity

And at times, out of most unawares,
You come bearing ample baskets of joy
Near brimming with thou fruits of labor,
Just when such feasts need be employed

Though there are times, dear and fragile Life,
When misfortunate weight tips the scales
A tasking trial for one so small to bear,
I know thy grace shall be given without fail

For ever and always you will surely be,
A beacon of light, a force, and vengeful rod
To be felt by the highest and the low,
You, Life, are most importantly, my God

I cannot begin to approach thy face,
For I will, from my soul, certainly bleed
Yet I welcome thy chameleon aspect,
Life, I can no more honor thee

Oh, wow...

You've left me all but speechless... with tears on my face. It's that good.

Though there are times, dear and fragile Life,
When misfortunate weight tips the scales
A tasking trial for one so small to bear,
I know thy grace shall be given without fail

In particular, this verse "got" me... It's easy to appreciate life when things are going well... but this???

Oh, wow... and into my library. *S*

Hello, Guy.  I love the classical presentation of this work--would not be out of place with the style of the Lake poets.  Finely worked, with good meter and rhyme.  A good read, for which, my thanks.

Sutra 4: Do not expect your Path to be smooth.  It will have rocks, slippery portions, and parts that are washed away completely.  Persevere.
