in canonized moments
under benediction of darkness
around moonlit corners
love, follow me unbidden
along hedgerow asylum
down paths of perdition
into this shanty chapel
on well-paved intentions
through my torn citadel
over crumbling abaculus
beside baptismal waters
upon blessed tabernacle
in upper rooms hidden
among heralded talismans
to my altar of incense
an unorthodox sacrament
within covenant forbidden
against prophet’s testament
and let us worship there
until we reach redemption

somewhere south of eden

This is the sort of poem that always appeals to me... a little romance, a little mystery and the recognized thoughts of a seeker.

I didn't just like it, I loved it, and I would follow you through hell and back, but NOT so sure about the asylum. ;-) an exciting read to be sure! In fact it may be my fave of yours, but I still like the romantic ones, that make me swoon. :-P The images, the faith, everything just hits me to the core. VERY exciting. for sure!

PS Let's here it for the South Side!!!! What What???

wow brad

you are very trusting..and don't be afraid of the asylum, it was meant in the refuge sort of way

I don't know that I've ever made anyone swoon before

  thanks

lol thanks for making me laugh brneyedgrly.

I write 'Beautifully Captured' because it is what it says. You captured the feeling quite beautifully and I cannot think of any combination of words to express that then those two.

Well, that and 'Wonderfully Trapped'

But- That one just doesn't sound too complimenting.

paul

thanks for the piece of your heart

this will probably make you blush, but I want to say in public that of the few guys I have talked to on here, you are one of the most chivalrous, respectful and kind souls I have met..a true gentleman

and that says a lot for your age..thanks for being true

Since I can't figure out how to PM you...

Would you happen to have any artists you'd like to share? I've been looking for more of a Soul-Sound. I can't remember the names of any of the songs I have stuck in my head though, or the artists.

And while I'm on topic. (Sarcasm)

Is "South" Of Eden hold any significance?

NDNC, looking for Soul? Try watching the movie The Commitments, or listen to the 2 different soundtrack cd's. Wilson Picket, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, they did covers for the movie. Andrew Strong, the lead singer from the movie band, still sings soul too. The Blues Brothers sing/sang a lot of soul too. Erika Badu (sp?) and always, ALWAYS, Ray Charles!
