I brought you footsteps on tiptoes in boots
and leaned them against your smile side sill
like a voyeur hired by the hour to be wealthy

you moved your eyes around in those glances
like they were marbles you had found
and didn't know where you wanted to keep them

I wrote poems with my fingers on your shoulders
when you were strapless pretending to be invisible
and your caution had the laces removed for safety

you said my words were like ricochet sounds
how they didn't puncture your fragile places
but you felt them touching deeper then your skin

when you covered my mouth with everything but hands
