I built me a wall

I built me a wall

High on a hill

I built me a wall

At least, 10 feet tall!

Behind that wall

I built me a hut

Big enough for me that hut

In that hut I built me a chair

Small enough to see out the window that chair

Behind that wall, in that hut, on that chair

You'll find me as I sit and stare

That window of mine is never empty

The vivid colors of that window is so quite simply

Remarkable, its why I built that wall

To protect my window, in my hut, on my chair

You say its just a picture, I say your jealous

So I peek around my wall,

I find you building a ladder

At least10 feet tall!

You want to steal my window

So I built me a trap

Behind my wall, in my hut, on my chair

Such a shame that life isn't quite fair

For on that trap, behind me wall, in my hut and on my chair

I sit and wait, trapped in my trap but you'll never guess where I stare.

You better watch that window buddy because I'm on the prowl. You have to sleep sometime and I know about your trap. And I always carry a trap buster.
Really, it's a wonderful write. I wish I had though of it.

I think this is a wonderful poem. It captivated me - and while I understood it, I smiled.
