Until enlightenment

From the privacy of mind
set into restfulness
she looked at love unblinkingly
and knew a thing or two.

That thing or two like you and me
when once upon a time we were
entangled in the process of
becoming who we are.

But as with all entanglements
unawareness severs ties
and makes of love a lie
until enlightenment.

Enlightenment is picky, see
and comes only to the ones who know
they’ve walked the miles,
talked the lies,
and lived within the lines
for too long a time.

Then unto one is granted more
and to the other none
for life is still a devil thing
that must divide to conquer.

The devil now victorious
smiles the smile of one who knows
he broke a pact and sealed the facts
behind the eyes of humankind
that ne’er turn backward, in.

And so of stories they can be
deep and telling, honest, true,
or simply like a speck of dust
blown wayward by the wind
and lost, forgotten, buried
until enlightenment!

Sunday story ... it reminds me of my Grandma who always said that the devil worked extra hard on Sundays because people tend to be more loving after hearing the Lord's words and the devil of course has to counteract .... (just a memory that floated into my mind).

As always you analyze beautifully. But of course you need not wait till enlightenment comes. You know already that the Divine Source of Love is available always and for everybody.

It's our beliefs that block the view of the fountain of love.

Wishing you a beautiful Sunday, may you feel love's presence.
Love and hugs.
