Sharm-el Sheikh, Israel. I remember running from the sheltered tent into your warm crystal clear waters. The sands were blazing hot and there was no escape from the heat of the moment. Even the sandals on my feet did not keep me from feeling the intensity of you, Sharm-el-Sheikh. Watching world news burns these soles and this soul again, singhing the very heart of me. Bowing my head in sorrow, scorched by our never-ending (in)humanity. ***Remembering my Israeli friends tonight, and wishing all a Happy New Year. This write is dedicated to the memory of a friend: Abba Kovner, Kibbutz Ein Hahoresh. "Poetry," he said, "is a request for pardon for what we do in our lives, and for what was done to us." |

fine (Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur) ‘memory snippet’ imagery and an effective commentary on the negative redundancy of human nature … some of us might disagree however with the ending quote and argue instead ... that "Poetry" should be about the expression and pursuit of infinite, timeless, universal "truth and beauty"... and/or the eternal 'human condition' of the "everyman" relative to said ... rather than anything 'self-referential' ('self-focused') ... whether it be some personal 'request for pardon' or not! applause for this 'penning' !! |

I should read every word you write, as to temper my rants and rages. |

(big huggies) Oh Kacy, I believe this is not only a triumphant tribute to your dear friend, but to every believer in the world for a Middle East in the not-so-distant future replete with peace, acceptance and comfort! (sigh) I pray for this ever so often and ardently, and I know millions upon millions worldwide share this vision your friend had and will always have! Bless you, my friend, I could feel that intense sun on my shoulders reading this! XOXO, Lisping Hibiscus "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" |
