I always called the aurora borealis my Rainbow Dancing Lights. But at midnight on September 11, 2001, the aurora was a pale green monochromatic short-lived dancing wave accompanied by thousands of stars in a freezing clear midnight blue sky. Then the dancing lights took on a different hue. They suddenly became a colorful Rainbow of Hearts. The stars became the souls of lost innocents, and the aurora was their wave of goodbye. I stood in awe, still in shock and disbelief at the events of September 11, asking "Why?" Then I heard weeping 'round the world from loved ones left behind, as the souls that burned brightly in the sky also questioned "Why?" No answers came.. though I looked to the sky each night asking "Why?" Now when I look for the twinkling stars and the dancing northern lights I cry a silent goodbye, yet keep asking "Why?" Will there ever be an acceptable reply? |

When will we ever get an answer to the senseless loss of the innocents? Loved your thoughtful poem!!! |

quote: How absolutely touching, dear Kacy. Beautifully done. No, it is difficult to find adequate answers. The root of all evil resides in the incapacity of humans to really love and respect their neighbour and in the lack of awareness that we all are One, coming from the same Source. So, instead of evolving together and sustaining each other, we still tend to destroy each other. Thank you for this intense write. Love, Margherita |

though the world did cry for the blood that spilled from those that died tragedy comes everyday natural disasters or those man made the days give way so we might say though pretense may have been false there has been good hence when we reassure the recompense a tyrant fell down the noose's well and a land now free people see a world has become what they CHOOSE it to be... |

Then I heard weeping 'round the world from loved ones left behind, as the souls that burned brightly in the sky also questioned "Why?" Dear Kacy, that is such a powerful poignant write. I often wonder myself why people commit such devasting tradgedys, and ninety nine per cent is carried out in the name of religion. Allah Ackba indeed. I'm sure God must frown on all those crazy mixed up people who commit atrocities in his name. A very good thought provoker this one my dear. Love. Lindsay |

Kacy, you are a poetess through and through. There are several aspects of you that enable you to write as you do. ~ a loving, compassionate heart ~ acute powers of observation ~ your love of Nature ~ and people! ~ your God-given creative talent for writing ~ your ability to see both sides of situations ~ your yin and yang are well-balanced ~ You are intelligent ~ your humanitarianism ~ your pro-active nature ~ your spirituality ~ your innate wisdom ....and the list goes on! (shrugs shoulders sadly) No.........I don't believe there ever will, but for the simple fact that we, together, are pondering this very question regardless with solemn transfixed stares..........I am hopeful, as a global community, that we are conscious enough to someday come to our senses and mend and heal this wounded world over and see to it we don't come to this aching rhetorical impasse again! (huggies) You are a true beacon to the world, my friend. I am, as always, blessed to know you and have you as a friend! LInda! Now you made me blush. I jist try to be a world citizsen with an appreciation of all the beauty of diversity we've been given. Noah, as you well know,we still have to keep the goal in plain view, and strive to change hearts and mindsets. |

I don't know how I missed this one, Kacy. A beautiful poem by a compassionate poet with a pure soul, Kacy. God gave us freedom of choice, but sadly, some people abuse it. As I have said so often, if human civilisatoin could one day rise to the level of Vervet monkeys (or any other animals), what a wonderful world we would have. Owl |
