always the rebel side
gets into trouble
fighting bloody-knuckle
to defend what I believe
rooting for the underdog
‘cause victory is sweet on everyone
always tell the truth
even when it doesn’t suit
not afraid of powers
political games don’t interest
and every moment living real time
pulls back to me
don’t know what crimes
you could possibly accuse
that I’m not already
currently concurrently
doing time for
daily I pay my dues
something from past generations
nightly I pray for absolution
and God only answers with silence

rattling the bars
in frustration
it is then that I realize
after all this time
it is I who holds the keys
to exoneration
compensation
and forgiveness

and freedom feels good

Yes indeed, Shellie! Freedom does feel good, doesn't it? I am so glad you are back.

Why do I feel like standing up and clapping.  You do that to me, you know -- just drag me right into your words.  It's a special thing about you.

I have missed you.

Dear Brown-eyed Beauty, it was great getting to know you ever better with this self expose! The more I learn ~ the more I like you!

While reading your closing lines, the theme song from the movie "Rocky" played in my head!

"rattling the bars
in frustration
it is then that I realize
after all this time
it is I who holds the keys
to exoneration
compensation
and forgiveness

and freedom feels good"

~ and yes, freedom can feel VERY good!

Love you!

This write exudes real power ... your power, dear Shellie.

I believe Universe always sends answers for our highest good, but we are not always synchronized ...

But you actually did find the answer  ... you know you have the key to freedom.

Thank you, for this reminder, you just channeled  Universe's response and poured it into my heart.

Love and hugs.

i'm really diggin this piece...its fast paced hard hitting and poignant.

and it has a good message.  funny how it takes us years to figure out we had the answers all along.

I kept wondering why that frisbee kept getting bigger and bigger....and then it hit me.

I enjoyed your revelation.
Too often people blame other people or the cruel world for their own predicaments when it is they themselves that hold the key out of bondage.

Sorry Shellie, I meant to tell you not to leave those keys out of your hand ever. You

be the one who calls the shots. I'm sure you are quite capable of doing that.
Great post my dear. Love.
