To promises I make,I am true till death
Then why the people I hold dear
Shy away and do not spare a breath
To break the promises they made and told me I am a dear
Than everything and everyone in this world
And laugh behind me in front of the world.

Do they ever stop to think
The destruction their actions cause
How slowly I am loosing my mind and never think
That the world may still hold a few who are true to the cause
Of giving and caring and loving with an earnestness
But time is slipping through due to their carelessness
Bereft of all trust
I go on with a brave thrust.

Come what may in my path
Never will I be forced  away from my path
And in the end will I be at the top
The world watching while with joy I hop.

Hi, Esha!

I like a person who is trust-worthy and who is loving, giving, caring and who keeps their promises!

~ and who marches to their own drum beat!

"Come what may in my path
Never will I be forced  away from my path"

~ It's a pleasure to meet you and to have read your marvelous debuting poem!

Giving you a warm, welcoming pip hug,

It can be overwhelming when you feel you are surrounded by people who dont seem to care, or when you are betrayed by someone you love,

but you seem like a very strong person and you deserve brighter days

Very emotional first entry, dear Esha Sen Gupta!

No one can actually break your trust in yourself, unless you allow them to. But I understand, that sometimes we feel vulnerable in the presence of those who have not yet learned to love and respect their neighbour.

Love and Peace.

Loved the ending.

Very heartfelt poem indeed, lovely first post. Trust as to be earned and it takes a long time to heal when betrayed. Good one...

Welcome to Pip.

I think we see a bit of your heart in this poem.  I will reading more as you share - and hoping to know you just a bit better through your poetry and responses.

Hello Mr. Gupta,

You wrote me a few lines about feeling insecure about writing poetry.  If this is an example of your skills, then I must say I am impressed.  This is a very well written poem with lots of empathy intertwined.  Please keep up your good work, you know the old saying about practice making perfect, and it does, believe me !
