It’s early on a Paris morn I wake to a piercing scream Not once but twice The same voice The same long drawn out cry How odd How strange No sirens follow No rush of voices Nothing Silence returns And I go on sleeping... But the thought remains What happened to her... Be kind at heart....for everyone you meet has their own battle to fight......... |

Hi Roniece, a chilling write for a restful night my friend. What happens around the corner, we don't know and really do we want to? Enjoy your day Roniece and all that comes you way. Rick |

Hi, RDB! I haven't read a poem of yours for quite some time ~ unless I just happened to any! That's easy to do with all the postings we have at pip! ~ and that's a good thang! lol Anyhoo, I can see how that experience comes back to haunt you. Our imaginations can think up many diffierent scenarios. Let's just hope that she was actually having a 'VERY' good time! Linda |

(hugs) Oh Roniece, reading this reminded me of a Neko Case song titled "Star Witness", which speaks of a tragic murder in a ghetto she was living in at the time, where the mention in this poem of no siren going off reminded me of the final verse in her song where she sings "They don't even turn on the siren..." and also is frustrated by the fact that the local press didn't devote particularly attention to the story! (sigh) Ultimately I hope, too, it was actually a squeal of delight type of scream from having a good time at a party or some other social engagement! This was most poignant and picture-perfect, my friend, yay! Love, Noah Eaton "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" |

Hi ,just a begginer but I the poem brought back the chilling thought of a girl of just 17 who was brutally gang raped and murdered . In todays world however it just happens the way you have written no one really comes even to enquire.Loved it. |

Ou, that probably wont let me sleep tonight, or any night. I tend to have this problem when I read or hear something I don't have the answer to and I keep thinking about it until I get the answer. I guess in this situation, there is no answer, only wonder. Oh, dear. Some weight testing on sanity lol Oh dear, RDB! Your poetry has been missed, especially over here! hoping all is well ARCTIC WIND |

Yo dear RDB, That happens in other places besides Paris. Many times the sirens don't come. Some times we know what happened, other times we don't. Then, like you, we wonder--and always wish it didn't happen. This is an excellent descriptive poem. Love Bobby |
