“Gegenschein” is German for “counterglow”, and is also a cosmological term for any faint brightening of the night sky directly opposite of the Sun, reflected by interplanetary dust. I decided to re-post this while I complete new poetry because it has a Tantric vibe to it and is representative of the joy of gleaming not just as an individual, but also having the ability to reflect the light from the heavens across the universe for all to feel and behold, which I feel this year, and this summer especially, has been dominated by such ricocheting light! My summer has been a dream come true, and I believe the possibilities are endless for everyone here! ) * Gegenschein (Part Of: “Dance Dance Revolutionary”) By: Noah Eaton 12/1/06 Avert your vision, beyond assumptions of mediocrity, envision the cosmic evolution, a maximum overdrive feeling of identity, ride a broomstick into an event horizon, feel your heartbeat treble beyond the lithosphere, we were born to be anointed in the moonlight, more than once in a lunar year. Open your eyes, only you know what you can see, in the dark nights of the brightest dreamers, possibilities are scattered endlessly… Witch doctors of the rising sun, stylize their aurora circus in absolute magnitude, glitter our bodies in remnants of the supernovas, so we can see our spirits soar at limitless altitudes, trampolining upon the eyelashes of the sun, vaulting back across the fingertips of the galaxy, exposing ourselves so all can see, all that we are destined to be… Open your eyes, only you know what you can see, in the dark nights of the brightest dreamers, possibilities are scattered endlessly… (Bend your mind, into maximum overdrive, at light’s velocity, feed your curiosity, happy hardcore galore, come on up to the fore, you’re on the Hayashi track, now go and dance that chance!) Open your eyes, only you know what you can see, in the dark nights of the brightest dreamers, possibilities are scattered endlessly... Gegenschein is a beautiful word and you use it here in such a powerful, brilliant way, dear Noah! This is most beautiful and I am happy that your Summer manifested your dreams! Love, Margherita |

My dear Angel Boy Man, I'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who could do that as well as you!!! You are truly a delight! ~ and so is your poetry! Happy Cosmic Trails! Love & Gegenschein Light, Linda |

Awwwwwwwwww, thanks Margherita! It's my favorite German word of all, and certainly among my fifty favorite words in all the global vernacular! To hear that I did this word justice here makes me feel all the more delighted, yay! Thanks soooooooooo much, my friend! This is by far the best summer of my life to date. I've made many new friends, I got my first kiss (I don't have a girlfriend yet but that first kiss was still a most enjoyable one that I think most others would happily take if they experienced it), I've had many meaningful experiences socially (volunteering in particular) and my self-confidence has never been higher. I'm in such a good place that, despite the summer unofficially coming to an end in a week and a half, unlike previous summers I'm not feeling sad about it, as I'm just ecstatic about what still rests on the horizon for me and I happen to believe the autumn and winter will have more to offer! Hope you're having a joyous summer, my friend! XOXO, Noah Eaton "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" |

Yay, thanks Linda! ROFL! Oh Gosh-Gollies, you're soooooooo right! Just by pointing that verse out to me I laughed realizing how strikingly familiar it was to my experience at the festival two and a half weeks ago, especially the notions of feeding my curiosity and dancing that chance! It's almost as though I had been dreaming for that kind of moment for years in advance, but never exactly took initiative until now............and probably not in the way many expected I would either when I finally did so! By the way, some fellow festival friends have talked me into regularly attending what's called these "Ecstatic Dance" meet-ups twice a month. It's actually all kinds of different dances featured in them, and I am excited about dancing more often just for the fun of it, whether it's the more casual, the more cultural or the more exotic. Yay, thanks sooooooooooo much! XOXO, Noah Eaton "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" |
