The hymns of nature’s quiet peace Await my leaning ear These are the songs my spirit Is so desperate to hear Among the hills there is a scent Of seasonal perfume And there is splendor that my eyes Are waiting to consume Anticipation marks the trail On which my feet embark How many winding miles ahead To heal this wounded heart? A warbler sings familiar tunes Beyond another bend And I will trek the forest deep Until I’m home again Elizabeth Santos |

Soothing thoughts for me to carry off to bed this night. Liz, your poetry brings tranquilty and grace to these blue pages. Over the years, several of our fellow pip poets have shared with me that you are one of their absolute favourite poets at pip! ~ and might I add, that you are definitely one of mine. Sleep well, dear poetess. Love, Linda |

Hands down you are among my favorite PiP poets and this piece reminds me why. It's beautiful and the meter just marches along. Thank you for sharing. Alison |

quote: How absolutely enticing, dear Elizabeth. It is a healing path you walk on. Can deeply feel the serenity in coping with pain and you say it ever so beautifully. Love and hugs. Margherita |

Elizabeth - your heart sings a story with words to hear. A warbler sings familiar tunes Beyond another bend And I will trek the forest deep Until I’m home again 'Sing, as your heart stills the curves of aching for then you will walk from the forest into arms that will wait.' BC |
