Proclamation
by Linda L. Dowd

I be not bold knight wearing strong suit of armour.
~ Deflecting assails of sword, arrow and dart.
I am a fair maiden with skin ~ soft and supple,
~ And the vilest of words pierce right thru’ to the heart.

~ * ~

I wore not a mask that could shield me from onslaughts.
My face was exposed and considered fair game.
Whene’er I resisted ~ those assaults knocked me over,
~ But now I am standing and my rights I proclaim!

.

Goddess ~

Hello, MicheleRose. One of the reasons that I haven't posted any new poems with audio is because the web host that I use is going through a transformation at the present time and I am unable to post new audio poems at pip. That is why you may see the occacsional repost of a poem with audio. I'll probably be posting them again in October.

Thank you for your warm response to my poem!

Even the supple willows stand agaist the greatest storms. Women are as strong as any calamity.

Encore!  I am woman hear me roar, despite a fight with vile sword!

Linda, do you do some of the artwork included with your poetry?  I notice you give credit to many artists?  How do I know if it is your artwork I view?

Can I possibly express how I adore you and your poetry?

Be well, my friend,
hugs!

Garapan ~

What you say is very true. A willow is graceful and sways with the wind, but its roots are one of the strongest forces in nature. One daresn't build a house too close to one! Their roots can push right through the foundation of it! Who woulda thunk it?!?

Thank you for your response!

Have a great day!

I aspire to have the grace of a willow with  the strength and stature of a mighty oak!

Misce' ~

Yes, "Encore" to that inspiring refrain!!! "I am woman! Hear me roar!". Helen Reddy's song still plays in my head whenever I need some added strength and courage!

Most of the graphics that I use to accompany my poems are by other artists. When their names are available, I state them. If I am the artist, I give myself the credit! lol Mind you, there has been the odd occasion when I have neglected to do so, but the predonerance of artwork is by other artists. I am in absolute awe of some of them!!!

By the way, the adoration of which you speak is a two-way street!

Love you!
Linda

SS, it truly pains me to know that you are going through such a difficult time. Remember this, your Light is so bright that no dark cloud could ever be able to extinguish it!

Stand strong and keep on shining! You are beautiful from the inside out!

(smiles) Yep, you doesn't even need to make a rebel yell fist-pump motion with her wrist, as your will alone makes the best coupled constructive offense and defense!

(gives rock on sign) I proclaim this poem a true keeper, dearest Linda, yay! Now keep spreading the word all across the Empyrean ether!

XOXO,
