Days of Dark & Light
by Linda L. Dowd

I’m a living, breathing dichotomy,
For every cell is torn in two.
~ My body and mind are bifurcating,
~ My emotions, a quagmire stew.

My psyche has been ripped asunder.
Spirit Light glows bright ~ then wanes.
I’ve never known such highs and joys,
~ Nor have I ever known such pains.

With conflicting thoughts and feelings,
~ I’m at the brink of self-combustion.
These trying times of ambivalence,
Have lead to complete exhaustion.

I need to focus and ground myself,
In these days of Dark and Light.
~ Accepting what I cannot change,
~ And believing all is Right.

.

Sometimes you need to give in to the darkness.
If it feels right, it IS right. lol

Because I understand this conflict.

My beautiful bright Linda Angelo Terrestre, I want to reach out and hug you, for your intense poetic offering speaks of pain.

We are in this world of duality and you know better than me how this sometimes can cause such a sense of being "split".

May you be able to walk on the "live coals" of pain with total detachment and land on a dew kissed meadow to be fully refreshed and healed.

My beautiful beloved Poetess, may you focus on the light.

Love,
Margherita

Hello Linda, your poem is successful, an elegant tribute to dichotomy and a certain suavity in the words, I guess you will rebound very soon, the choice between happiness and unhappiness being obvious...  thanks for the melodious poem.

It’s a cute poem.

Linda - I find change is inevitable, and will always be there. Accepting it is the challenge, as I have found...

My Dear Dolphina ~

Oh, Margherita, it is like being "split" in two! Mind you, I've got a strong constitution ~ and spirit! I operate more from the proverbial half-full ~ as opposed to the half-empty ~ cup perspective.

Thank you, my dear friend for your love and support and your ever-so-kind and gentle words.

Greetings, Dear Bill! I refuse to stay down for long. We never appreciate the highs unless we have experienced the lows ~ nor do we appreciate the Light unless we have experienced the Dark.

Dear, dear Linda, it is the darkest night in God lights a single candle to glow the brightest - and it is those who acknowledge and feel their fears, who face them the best, and can embrace courage with the wonderful spirit with which you do.

My dear Ida Belle ~

My dear friend, I'm sorry to hear that your summer has not been the best. Mine truly has been a mixed bag, ergo, my 'bifurcating'!

I truly am fine. I'm a go-with-the-flow kinda person. It's just that the waters have been rather choppy and I'm a bit sea-sick. Thank God-ness for LightHouses! I have faith that I will be guided safefly out of the turbulence.

Love you!

Sunshiny One ~

Oh, Karilea, that loaded question reminds me of another one, "How are you feeling" and the person goes on and on and on naming every ailment in the book! lol

Worry not, my friend! I will be Guided safely to calm waters. I am just too grateful for the blessings in my life to allow the "slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" to do me in!

My challenges are not for the faint of heart, but I will not only survive ~ I will thrive!

Earth life sure ain't easy! ~ but it certainly can have some glorious moments and those I will keep in the forefront of my mind ~ and spirit.

Thank you for caring,
Love,
Linda

Such beautifully written conflict! I know you're the eternal optimist... here you've erased all doubt that it's a choice and not a charmed life that makes you so. *S*

(smiles) For a long time, I was led to believe that Light and Dark were entirely at odds with each other and it seemed there was not meant to be harmony between the two.........but as of late, I've come to learn that such opposites as Day and Night do attract, nonetheless.........and that ultimately all contradictions dissolve in divinity, and truly it is both the light and darkness that guide us through our lives and help us find meaning, find clarity, and truly there is harmony and camaraderie in every opposite!

(huggies) Bless you, dearest friend, I hope you have a wonderful weekend, yay!

XOXO,
Noah Eaton

Suthern One ~

Yes, my friend, I have been tried and I've been tested ~ and, alas, I continue to be..

~ However, I choose to be happy instead of sad. I am able to do so because I truly have a grateful heart for the blessings that I do have in my life!

I choose to look on the sunny side of clouds (even if when it's hidden).

Gosh, Noah!

You express your philosophical side, with a great deal of eloquence! I truly enjoy reading your thought-filled response.

We live in a yin-yang ~ Dark-Light, world! Evetything in life is a continuing balancing act!

Thank you, once again, for yet another memorable response.

Love & LIGHT

Linda
