Separate Rooms Silently, I glimpse white lace on a silken spread. Hesitant, beauty being one of the few things to make me so, I slip into her room. Her absence does little to remove her presence, or my fear of it. Slowly, cautiously, I move to her dresser. Calloused hands move from one precious item to another, admiring and caressing. Each has its own special gift for me, a man born to hard work and toil. There is a feminine beauty so unique to her, so ethereal in it's quality, that it brings an ache to my stubborn heart and warms the embers of a love I alienated so many years ago. Just reworked my old poetry page. Check it out before geocities takes it down. Yoin |
