To my best friend, even though she'll probably never see it

Thanks To You

I cry as she drives away
Thinking why here, why today?
Wondering why she had to go
But realizing I'll never really know

Then, in pain I make a call
Not knowing what else to do
And just like every time I fall
Your love proved strong and true

I kept letting myself slip
I was gone for so long
And I really never thought
I'd sit down to write this song

Home never sounded so sweet
Yet I forced myself to be so dense
But in this place, and on this street
Everything just seems to make sense

I know you'll probably never see
All that I have to say in this
But know that every time I leave
You're the only one I miss

I have learned a lot this year
That I really never knew
I found out who I love the most
And that it has always been you

Thanks to you I don't need her
And I now know what I refused to see
Thanks to you I can really be sure
I'm becoming what you've always seen in me
