Hey, so yea I'm back. Let me know what you think.

Take a deep breath,
Breathe out slow,
Walk through those school doors,
Forget last nights sorrow.

Go through the day,
With a plastered smile,
Fake to your true friends,
Pretend you have a normal lifestyle.

Always say your fine,
When people ask questions,
Never let your bruises slip,
Fear of rejection threatens.

Try to be the person people think,
Hold your pride high,
For what would people say,
If they knew at night you cry?

Wait till dark falls,
To let the tears flow,
Squeeze your eyes tight to make it stop,
Take another fist blow.

Let him take out his frustrations,
Let him scar you mind and flesh,
Hitting until you seem hollow inside,
Each night it's a replay, Refresh.

Lie there when he's done,
Don't make a sound,
Silently beg constantly that,
He leaves you on the ground.

Let out the long withheld breath,
As he walks out of your room,
Crawl inside you little world,
Away from your body's bruised gloom.

Cup your hands over your mouth,
As you try to quiet your sobs,
The hot salty tears run,
As your red welted side throbs.

Wipe those tears away,
Limp over to the window,
Don't wish and pray anymore,
Lost faith in God long ago.

Shower, go to bed, get up,
Another day begins,
Try to mend you broken soul,
Which every night, more and more thins.

Take a deep breath,
Breathe out slow,
Walk through those school doors,
Forget last nights sorrow.

Smile to the friends you know
It helps you get through the day
Lie to everyone you happen to meet
And tell them your okay.

I thought of quite a few titles, including, Charlatan's Cry, Pretense With Purpose, Stifled Tears, Facade Of Fear.

I liked the poem but the story sort of disturbed me as no one has to put up with a life like this.  What is the worst thing that would happen if they told someone at school?  Well I think - nothing but kindness to them, and sincere care and understanding. Keeping a thing like this inside hurts everyone they are around, not to mention themselves.  Taking one step further, and telling a teacher would begin action to get a terrible situation like this halted, and resolved.  Love between a child and a parent should never hurt, ever.

You put a lot of thought into this one, good write.

this is really well written. it paints a picture very easily. i really admire people that can handle things like this in their lives and carry on day to day and find ways to succeed. it's truly impressive and always good to see.
