Whatever happened to the good ol' days? Where the milkman dropped off our milk each day? Where people talked instead of msning? Where we would go out and pick daisies in the meadows? Where good manners were not lost in a sea of technology? Where women, men and children alike treated everyone with respect? Where people respected the elderly? This is how it is now: People Go to the shops pray that they aren’t getting robbed...again. Brb go on msn 2 chat 2 me Go and buy wilting roses at the flower shop Go and punch someone in the face because he looked at me funny. Mug old ladies for their purses. Note~ I am not from the baby boomer (or later) era so this poem was inspired by my grandma and her tales of what she called "the good ol' days". P.S. I don’t think that everything was perfect back then but most people had good intentions. |

yes, yes, the good 'ol days, when african americans were discriminated, women had little rights, children were used for labor, and religious ideals spread out of hand. *sigh* What a time. hehe, it's a good poem though, never been one for prose, but it works. |
