You're walking
along a dirt path.
The ground is covered in mud.

As you go, you look back
behind youself
and you see that you've left
Footprints.

Your marks.

You realize
that the mud is life,
the footprints are you.

As we walk through life
our goal
Is to leave our mark.

As you look back
you notice that
some of your footprints
cover others'
Nearly obliterating some.

We want to leave
our marks;
Our footprints
in the mud.

But will we, in our attempt
to leave our own,
Will we erase
another's marks?
Eliminate their footprints.
Their marks.

Whose footprints
Will we erase
As we leave
Our own?
